Faster MedTech Development: Pre-Engineered Automation Framework

A fast-growing MedTech company developing oral care products needed to improve and speed up their testing process. The development cycles were rapid with usage of low code tech, however the manual testing was slow and couldn't keep up with the fast development pace. Zimetrics utilized its pre-engineered automation framework to implement automated testing, thereby increase efficiency, accuracy, and speed.

Challenges

Time Constraints: Rapid turnaround of development with frequent release cycles. Manual testing was a lengthy process that slowed down the release cycle. Regression execution time was more due to high number of test cases 

Quality Control: The complexity of the software made it difficult to ensure consistent test coverage, leading to potential bugs slipping through the cracks. 

Resource Allocation: Allocating resources for manual testing meant higher costs and less time for development and other tasks. 

Inconsistent Results: The manual approach sometimes led to variations in test results, affecting the reliability of the testing process. 

Solution

Test Automation Framework: We used a pre-engineered comprehensive test automation accelerator Panacea that was scalable and tailored to fit client’s requirement. Being pre-engineered framework, team did not spent time in developing framework rather within no time, they transformed manual cases to automation scripts.

Integration with CI/CD Pipeline: The automated tests were integrated into the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline, ensuring that tests were run consistently with each code change. 

Comprehensive Test Suite: We created a comprehensive test suite that covered functional aspects of the software, providing extensive coverage and reducing the risk of regression. 

Traceability: Achieved complete test traceability between requirements, test cases and test scripts

Increased Automation Coverage: Automated 360+ manual test cases (70% automation). 

Increased Efficiency: Test automation significantly reduced the time required for testing, allowing faster release cycles and quicker time-to-market. Parallel execution of test automation scripts reduced execution time by 60%.
